WW2 Dress up Day

Year 6 went back to the 1940s, in what was a fantastic WW2 themed day.
Friday, November 17, 2017
The day kicked off with the children learning about evacuation, making their own identity cards to hang round their necks. Linked to our new WW2 text 'Friend or Foe', the children then completed a freeze frame drama activity - we saw some great acting and the children really got into role. In Music the children learned two WW2 songs which they will also perform in assembly.

In the afternoon the children had the opportunity to experience the good and the bad of evacuation. The 'good' saw them playing hopscotch, jump rope and conkers, while the 'bad' saw them peeling carrots, darning socks and shoe polishing. Our WW2 topic will continue with the children learning lots more and taking part in some exciting activities.

Thank you to all the parents for their support with the costumes - the children looked absolutely fantastic and this would have been impossible without your help.
